Sticky end for Cornwall SSC at final summer championship round
Cornwall schoolboy scramble club held there final round for the 2009 summer club championship at the Wainhouse corner track near Bude.
Persistent rain through the week as well as heavy showers throughout sunday the track was extreamly wet seeing tricky conditions with many riders struggling hard
to push through the boggy track witch saw the final and second block run on a shortened track for all classes except the AMX. The rain was falling and the racing began.
The automatic riders hit the dirt with the junior 65cc class.
Tyler Rowe claimed the auto’s first race holeshot as he gripped through the grassy start straight.
Todd sawyer ripped the track in great speed to claim the first race win.Tyler rowe claimed the second spot.whilst a great ride saw kian mayho claim third.whilst fourth spot archie bees got the better of morgan timms.whilst sixth place Mary Gribble had a big problem with her ktm and was saw struggling to finish the race but never gave up.
Race two saw Tyler Rowe claim the holeshot again.
witch helped take him to his greatly deserved first place taking first overall.
Race one winner Todd Sawyer put in another good race taking third spot with a brilliant second overall.
Kian Mayho rode another great race taking the second spot and third overall.
Archie bees claimed another fourth claiming a consistent fourth overall.
Whilst morgan timms took the fifth spot taking his hard efforts to fifth overall.
whilst despite the bike problems Mary Gribble claimed sixth overall.
The junior 65cc class was riding great throughout the difficult conditions.
race one was under way with Jake Curtis Stevens flying to claim the first race holeshot.jake Flew through the mud at brilliant speeds claiming the first race win.
Joe Eiffert was riding great throughout the race and claimed a solid second spot.
Aiden Williams claimed the third spot after putting in maximum effort.
Dan Robert claimed the fourth spot ahead of fifth and sixth place Alfie Crocker and Jake Roebuck who were both tearing through the track.Whilst Thomas Andrew claimed a great ninth place.
Race two was under way with Aiden Williams getting the edge over Jake curtis stevens for the second race holeshot.
But the Fast riding of Jake was soon out front as he went on to take another race win as well as the first overall spot.Joe Eiffert rode another great race taking another well earnt second claiming second overall.Aiden williams again claimed the third spot claiming a brilliant third overall.Jake Roebuck finished the day off with a great fourth place taking him to a well deserved fourth overall.
Henry Bees had a terrific race taking a great fifth place just ahead of Callum jago pushing him up to sixth overall Just behind fifth overall Dan roberts.
The Small wheels 85cc class saw some very exciting and entertaining racing.
The small race was under way with Steve Gilbert claiming the holeshot but within an instant Daniel Furse flew into the side of steve wiping him and hiself right out.Which Saw Bill Gribble out leading the race but the difficutl conditions saw Bill fall a couple of times but Bill still claimed a brilliant fifth spot.Dean gripped through the muddy taking the best lines to claim the first race win.Despite being dead last due to the start incident Steven Gilbert raged through the pack taking a fantastic second.
High improving Adam Dawe rode a brilliant race claiming third spot just ahead of Thomas Parker who was riding solidly.Dan Furse pushed through the pack from the start incident claiming the sixth spot.Jack Conway Baker struggled in the conditions but kept at it and claimed a much deserved eighth.
Race two saw Bill Gribble launch out the gates claiming the holeshot.
Which saw him soon after claim the race win after such brilliant riding.Taking Bill to second overall.Steve Gilbert claimed another second But the consistent riding saw him claim the first overall spot.Thomas Parker claimed third place as well as third overall.Daniel Furse rode a good race taking a fourth claiming fifth overall.Ben Gibbons rode a solid race taking the fifth spot as well as sixth overall.Whilst race one winner Dean Symons claimed a sixth taking him to fourth overall.Whilst two consistent ninths saw Jamie Wenman Tie on points with the hard trying Owen Martyn.
The Big wheel 85cc class saw some good and tight racing.
Race one was under way with Alex Hockey claiming the first holeshot.
The slick style of Jack gribble was out front riding strong.But the difficult conditions nearly saw him fly right over the side of his bike on the tracks boggy step ups section but jack hanged on and kept it upright claiming the first race win.A battle for second was on Between the two 150F’s of Lawrence Harper and Stuart Smith who swapped place at the same part of the track But it was Stuart that got the second spot leaving Harper to settle for third.Jack Blackburn took a solid race taking the fourth spot Ahead of Max Wills who was powering through the dirt.Sixth place went to holeshotter Alex Hockey.Whilst newly upgraded Matthew Winn claimed eigth.
Stuart Smith claimed the second race holeshot.
But again it was the wet riding master of Jack gribble who was out front again and on his way to take the second first spot as well as first overall.
Stuart Smith again claimed the second spot taking a consistent second overall.
Lawrence Harper claimed another third taking the third overall race result after a good days racing.
Josh Taylor was seen riding better and much stronger on the shortened track as he claimed the fourth spot taking him to fifth overall.
Jack Blackburn claimed the fifth spot to finish his weekend in a brilliant fourth overall.
Kieran fogarty rode with great effort claiming a solid sixth spot to finish his weekend .But it was Max Wills that kept the power on to claim the sixth overall spot.
The Seniors class saw some of the worst rain but the racing made it well worth for the spectators to be watching.
race one was underway with Sean Browining claiming the first race holeshot.
With Darren Toy and wayne back unattending the meeting the battle of the red ruth riders of Jamie Orchard and Liam Curtis stevens was unleashed.
Jamie was seen well out front leading the pack.With Liam Curtis Stevens well on the pace but seeming to far behind to catch up.But a problem for Jamie allowed for Liam to pass as he powered on to take the first race win.Jamie secured the second spot.Whilst the two stroke of Tom Gibbons flew past the line in third.Ahead of a Brilliantly riding Craig Furse in fourth.Frank James Opie was riding solidly taking the fifth spot whilst race holeshotter Sean Browning claimed the sixth spot.Whilst Ryan Parker gripped past the line in tenth.
The second race Saw Liam destroy the start straight grass as he claimed the holeshot.Liam went on to claim the second race win securing a top first overall.
Tom Gibbons was performing well in the tuff conditions claiming second spot as well as second overall.Ross Damerall was on fire through the rain conditions finishing in a terrific third claiming fifth overall.
Jamie Orchard finished in fourth taking him to a well desvered third overall.Craig Furse finished his weekend with a fifth securing fourth overall.Whilst Frank James Opie crossed the line in sixth taking the sixth overall spot.
The AMX class saw some great racing with a large line up of riders.
The Gates dropped and Mark Denslow claimed the race holeshot out the amx classed riders.whilst Micheal Hayes was the first open classed rider to holeshot.
great racing was furiating throughout the track.Guy Jacobs was screaming his two stroke around the track as if it was just a dry and dusty day as he claimed second to start his day.It was the hard riding of Tom Brown that claimed the first place spot after tearing round the track.
Mark Lancely rode fast through the grippiest lines claiming third spot ahead of fourth spot Simon Bevan who was riding well.Fifth spot was claimed by Josh Evans who was pusshing hard.Whilst Robert Jago took sixth spot a great start to his weekend.
The second race was under way and open classed rider Sam Chapman Holeshot but went down in the process.But Despite the fall Sam Chapman destroyed the class and was the first rider to finish out of all amx and open classed riders.
Guy jacobs claimed first spot out the amx securing a brilliant first overall.
Simon Bevan finished the race in second claiming the second overall spot.Mark Denslow took a well earnt third spot claiming fourthi overall.Mark Calcutt finished his weekend in fourth taking the great fifth overall result tying points with a hard riding Craig Dawe who finished in sixth.
Matthew Brewer had a great ride in the second race passing the line in a brilliant fifth spot to finish his weekend.
