Welcome to the biggest MX mag ever!

colourpreview 230x300 Welcome to the biggest MX mag ever!

It’s celebration time at MOTO this month. What you have in your hands is the special 50th edition of MOTO so we thought we’d share the joy around with you our readers by producing a giant-sized issue.

Not only is it the biggest issue of MOTO ever, at 196 pages we’re convinced it’s the biggest ever issue of any motocross magazine produced in Britain.

We could have celebrated by bringing you page after page of stuff from previous issues. But we figured many of you had already seen that, so we’ve restricted our navel-gazing to just this solitary page with a few of the great covers we’ve had.

Instead, the magazine is packed with more photos and features than ever before. Our “50” theme stretches to our opinion on the 50 Greatest Things in Motocross Right Now feature. I’m sure you’ll have your own opinion on how much we got it wrong! Please let us know your thoughts…

I hope there’s enough stuff to read to tide you through the rush up to Xmas. And if it isn’t, then our websites www.motomagazine.co.uk and www.mxtrax.co.uk are packed with loads of entertainment, from amazing videos to madmen ranting. As always.

Looking back at some of the old issues of MOTO it comes clear that we’ve come a long way. Our sales have rocketed this year and I’d like to thank everyone for their (hopefully continued) support.

What is clear is that MOTO still retains the values it had from launch. I had a few hours with MOTO’s launch editor Rob “Doc Wobbly” Walters as we pored over his newly-finished peak Honda CR500AF this week. And as the conversation moved from bikes to magazines, we agreed the heart of MOTO is still the same.

It’s made by people on the inside of the sport, who know what’s going on and why. But it’s made for the people who make the sport what it is – the motocross public.

We aim to give an inside view and insight on the sport we all love, to fight its corner against its detractors and to champion British racers and racing. And by using great photographs to show just how great – or sometimes painful – motocross can be. Long may it continue.

Enjoy the issue, and here’s to not only another 50 but many, many more.
